Aluminum Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- November 29, 2024

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide markets for the past one-week period (November, 22 to November 27, 2024) on the Scrap Monster Price Index is provided below:

North America Prices

There was a general downward tendency in the prices. All scrap categories, except E.C. Aluminum Wire, remained flat when compared with the previous week.

E.C. Aluminum Wire prices recorded a marginal decline of 0.85% week over week. The prices of the commodity fell from $1.17 per Lb at the start of the week to end at $1.16 per Lb as on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet and UBC prices witnessed no change over the previous week.

USA East Coast Prices

The only commodity to report variation in prices over the previous week’s prices was E.C. Aluminum Wire. The price of the commodity recorded decline from $1.17 per Lb to $1.16 per Lb during the week ended November 27, 2024, falling by 0.85%.

The rest of the scrap aluminium categories held steady on the Index.

USA Midwest Prices

All scrap categories, except E.C. Aluminum Wire, remained flat when compared with the previous week.

E.C. Aluminum Wire prices were down by 0.85% over the previous week, recording decline from $1.17 per Lb to $1.16 per Lb.

Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet and UBC prices witnessed no change over the previous week.

Also, 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, and 6063 Extrusions/Fe prices were flat on the Index.

6063 Extrusions/Fe prices recorded no change from $0.63 per Lb over the week. The chart provided below depicts the weekly price movement in the commodity.

USA West Coast Prices

The only commodity to report variation in prices over the previous week’s prices was E.C. Aluminum Wire. The price of the commodity recorded decline by $0.01 per Lb from $1.17 per Lb to $1.16 per Lb during the week ended November 27, 2024, falling by 0.85%.

The rest of the scrap aluminium categories held steady on the Index.

China Prices

The Chinese aluminum scrap prices witnessed decline over the previous week’s price.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices recorded the largest decline, falling by 0.84% each over the prior week.

Also, 6063 Extrusions, E.C.Aluminum Wire, and Aluminum Ingots prices witnessed modest decline.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF also registered decline during the course of the week.

India Prices

The prices of scrap aluminum utensils recorded increase during the week ending on November 28, 2024. The prices were up by 3.39% to end at INR 244,000 per Ton on the Index. The weekly price chart of Aluminum utensil scrap is as follows:  

The prices of Aluminum ingots also were down by 3.27% week-over-week.

Europe Prices

The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) held steady during the week.

LME Aluminum Market Update

The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,582.00 per tonne as of November 28, 2024. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract inched lower from $2,577.00 a day before to $2,564.00 per tonne.

The LME Aluminum stocks declined marginally over the previous day to close at 698,475 tonnes on November 28, 2024, down slightly from 700,975 tonnes on November 27, 2024.
