Aluminum Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- Nov 10th, 2023

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide markets for the past one-week period (3^rd November to 9^th November, 2023) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:

North America Prices

The prices witnessed notable increase over the prior week. A few commodities held steady during the week.

The prices of Aluminum Transformers, Mixed Aluminum Turnings and Aluminum Radiators/Fe recorded the biggest surge on Index.

The Aluminum Transformers prices recorded an increase by 5.0% over the previous week. The prices edged higher by $0.20 per Lb to close at $0.21 per Lb on Index.

The prices of Mixed Aluminum Turnings and Aluminum Radiators/Fe too witnessed notable surge, with prices inching higher by 4.65% and 4.55% respectively.

The aluminum scrap commodities that maintained previous week price levels include Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe.

USA East Coast Prices

The regional scrap aluminum prices edged higher when compared with the prior week. The top three gainers were Aluminum Transformers, Mixed Aluminum Turnings and Aluminum Radiators/Fe.

The prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Breakage 50% Recovery, 6061 Extrusions, Zorba 90% NF and Chrome Wheels too recorded modest surge when compared with the week before.

Meantime, Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices held steady over the prior week.

USA Midwest Prices

The prices reported modest increase when compared with the week before.

Aluminum Transformers surged from $0.19 per Lb from the beginning of the week to close at $0.20 per Lb.

The Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices witnessed 4.65% weekly surge, recording a rise from $0.43 per Lb to $0.45 per Lb during the week ended 9^th November, 2023. The weekly price chart of the commodity is provided below:

The other scrap categories to record notable surge in prices were Aluminum Radiators/Fe, E.C. Aluminum Wire, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Breakage 50% Recovery, 6061 Extrusions, Zorba 90% NF and Chrome Wheels.

USA West Coast Prices

The regional prices of all scrap aluminum categories, except Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe posted week-on-week surge.

6063 Extrusions surged the least, with prices recording week-on-week increase by 2.56%.

Aluminum Transformers, Mixed Aluminum Turnings and Aluminum Radiators/Fe recorded the highest surge.

China Prices

The aluminum scrap prices in the region witnessed mixed trend upon comparison with the previous week.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Aluminum Ingots, Old Cast and Old Sheet registered week-on-week decline.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC and Zorba 90% NF held steady on Index.

India Prices

The Aluminum utensil scrap prices witnessed no change from the prior week. The weekly price chart of Aluminum utensil scrap is as follows:  

The aluminum ingots prices too were flat, unchanged during the week at Rupee 206,000 per Ton.

Europe Prices

The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) witnessed no change during the week.

LME Aluminum Market Update

Meantime, the closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,236.50 per tonne as on 9^th November, 2023. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract edged lower nominally from $2,258.00 a day before to $2,228.00 per tonne.

The LME Aluminum stocks decreased over the previous day to close at 459,100 tonnes on 9^th November, 2023, as compared with 461,600 a day before.
