Aluminum Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- 14th June, 2024

The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract edged higher from $2,476 a day before to $2,498 per tonne.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly price trends of scrap aluminium across worldwide markets for the period from 7th to 13th June, 2024 on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
North America Prices
The prices, in general, witnessed downward trend. However, a few categories held on to their previous week’s prices.
Breakage 50% Recovery recorded biggest decline in prices over the week, edging down from $0.37 per Lb to $0.36 per Lb. The prices of Aluminum Radiators and 6063 Extrusions too recorded significant decline, falling by 2.56% and 2.17% respectively.

Meantime, Litho Sheets, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean) and MLC Clips recorded least decline in prices over the week.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers held steady on Index.
USA East Coast Prices
Breakage 50% Recovery prices recorded biggest dip over the week, registering 2.7% decline from $0.37 per Lb to $0.36 per Lb. A notable weekly decline by 2.67% and 2.63% was seen in Aluminum Radiators and 6063 Extrusions prices.
The scrap aluminium categories that recorded nominal decline in prices included Litho Sheets, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean) and MLC Clips.
Meantime, prices of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers held steady on Index.
USA Midwest Prices
The aluminium scrap prices in the region mostly edged lower over the previous week. The top three losers were Breakage 50% Recovery, Aluminum Radiators and 6063 Extrusions.
The Breakage 50% Recovery prices ended the week at $0.35 per Lb, down from the previous week price of $0.36 per Lb, registering week-on-week decline by 2.78%.
Also, the week witnessed dip in prices of Aluminum Radiators and 6063 Extrusions to $0.37 per Lb and $0.88 per Lb respectively.

Meantime, prices of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers held steady on Index.
USA West Coast Prices
The aluminium scrap metal prices in the region remained weak, with prices of all except a few categories recording week-on-week decline.
The scrap categories to dip the most were Breakage 50% Recovery and Aluminum Radiators, whose prices recorded sharp decline by 2.63% and 2.56% respectively over the previous week. 6063 Extrusions prices recorded fall from $0.92 per Lb to $0.90 per Lb.

The prices of 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 6061 Extrusions, Chrome Wheels, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, Zorba 90% NF, E.C. Aluminum Wire and 5052 Scrap recorded week-on-week decline.
China Prices
The Chinese aluminum scrap prices inched lower over the week.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices declined the most. The prices of both these categories of copper scrap recorded week-on-week decline by 2.94%.
The Old Cast prices fell from CNY 18,700 per MT at the start of the week to end the week at CNY 18,150 per MT. The chart below provides the weekly price movement in Old Cast.
Also, Old Sheet too saw its price decline by CNY 550 per MT during the previous week. Please find below the weekly price chart of the commodity.
6063 Extrusions saw its prices decline from CNY 18,900 per MT to CNY 18,350 per MT during the week.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC, Zorba 90% NF, E.C. Aluminum Wire and Aluminum Ingots too registered week-on-week decline.
India Prices
The Aluminum utensil scrap prices recorded decline by 1.74%, falling to INR 226,000 per Ton during the week ended 13th June, 2024.

The prices of Aluminum ingots too were down during the week.
Europe Prices
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) held steady during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
Meantime, the closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,557.50 per tonne as on 13th June, 2024. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract edged higher from $2,476 a day before to $2,498 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined over the previous day to close at 1,085,550 tonnes on 13th June, 2024, as compared with 1,092,550 tonnes on 12th June, 2024.
