SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Customs Committee of the American Institute for International Steel will host an update video conference call with the leadership of the CBP Base Metals Center on issues affecting steel importers. This will occur on Tuesday August 11, 2020 at 2 pm EDT, 1 pm CDT, and 11 am PDT.

Customs representatives will include Center Director Africa Bell and Acting Assistant Directors Michelle English and Tracy Roy.

Topics for discussion include:

How has COVID-19 affected the personnel and the operations of the Center?

What issues and concerns have come up with the implementation of the USMCA?

Are there new or continuing problems or questions in Customs operations relating to Section 232, Section 301, and AD/CVD (including EAPA evasion and Commerce scope and circumvention actions)?

What can importers do to better present issues, resolve problems, and interact with Center personnel?
