Ahlstrom-Munksjo Billingsfors Paper Mill Installed Online Pulp Analyzer

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Ahlstrom-Munksjo’s specialty paper mill in Billingsfors in Sweden announced installation of PulpEye online pulp analyser. This will help the mill to measure online the kappa number, shives, dots and fibre length. This is the 80^th delivery of Pulp Eye analyser. It must be noted that delivery of 50^th PulpEye too was to another mill of Ahlstrom-Munksjo- the Aspa, Sweden pulp mill.

Commenting on the development, Ojvind Sundvall, CEO, PulpEye noted that the company is happy that Billingsfors chose its solution for online measurement of important pulp properties such as kappa number, fibre and shives. It makes it even more fun that it is the company’s eightieth PulpEye delivery in total. The DotEye module will ensure that the stock fed to the paper machine is of the highest purity, he added.

Jonas Lindquist, mill manager for Ahlstrom-Munksjo Billingsfors noted that purity of paper is of prime importance to the company. It is important to be able to measure the purity of the produced pulp as early as possible in the process. The continuous analysis results from PulpEye will make it easier and faster for the company to ensure the purity and quality of the pulp, he said.

The Ahlstrom-Munksjo Billingsfors has an annual capacity of 70,000 tonnes of specialty paper.
