5th January, 2021: North American Scrap Metal Prices Surged on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices remained buoyant on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on January 5^th, Tuesday. Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Brass and Bronze scrap prices too surged higher on Index. Meantime, Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.09 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.09 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.09 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery edged higher by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices inched higher by $0.02 per Lb. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.09 per Lb.

Copper Radiator prices were up by $0.03 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Transformer scrap were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index.  Cu Yokes and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices too saw an increase by $0.01 per Lb from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe edged higher by $0.02 per Lb each on January 5^th, 2021.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb on Index.

Heater Cores and Romex Wire prices were up by $0.02 per Lb each.

The prices of Starters edged higher by $0.01 per Lb.

Xmas Lights remained unchanged on Index.

Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units surged higher by $0.01 per Lb each from previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too rose by $0.01 per Lb each.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions inched higher by $0.01 per Lb over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions too were up by $0.01 per Lb when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe edged higher by $0.02 per Lb on Index. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices remained unchanged on January 5^th, 2021.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices were unchanged on Index.

Chrome Wheels edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

Litho Sheets and Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices increased by $0.01 per Lb each.

MLC Clips were up by $0.02 per Lb.

The prices of Old Cast and UBC saw marginal increase by $0.01 per Lb each.

Old Sheet and Zorba 90% NF prices surged higher by $0.02 per Lb each.

Painted Sliding prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat over the previous day.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too witnessed no change on 5^th January, 2021.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady on Index.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also reported no change in prices in comparison with the previous day.

 Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb on Index.

304 SS Solid prices too were up by  $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.

304 SS Turning witnessed a jump of $0.02 per Lb on January 5^th, 2021.

309 SS and 310 SS prices saw no change in price on a daily basis.

330 SS prices edged higher by $0.03 per Lb on Index.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices inched higher by $0.02 per Lb on Index.

 Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region soared on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator prices surged higher by $0.01 per Lb each on January 5^th, 2021.

Brass Radiator /Fe priced were up by $0.01 per Lb.

Brass Radiator Ends prices remained unchanged over the day.

Red Brass, Rod Borings and Yellow Brass prices increased by $0.02 per Lb each on Index.
