3rd August, 2020: North American Scrap Metal Prices Surged Higher on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices remained buoyant on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on August 3^rd, Monday. Aluminum, Brass and Bronze scrap prices too surged higher on Index. Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained flat on Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.04 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.04 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.04 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery saw no change in prices over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery and Copper Radiator scrap prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb each. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.04 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Transformer scrap and Cu Yokes were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index.  Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices witnessed no change from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe edged higher by $0.03 per Lb each on August 3^rd, 2020.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb.

Heater Cores and Romex Wire prices were up by $0.02 per Lb each.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters and Sealed units remained unchanged on Index.

Xmas Lights prices saw no change from previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices remained flat over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were steady on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6061 Extrusions too were unchanged.

The prices of 6061 Extrusions and 6063 Extrusions/Fe Scrap inched higher by $0.01 per Lb over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6063 Extrusions witnessed no change when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe edged higher by $0.03 per Lb each. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices remained unchanged on August 3^rd, 2020.

Chrome Wheels and remained flat on Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices increased by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.

MLC Clips prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb from previous day’s levels.

Litho Sheets and Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices too remained unchanged.

The prices of Old Cast recorded no change.

Old Sheet prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.

UBC, Painted Siding and Zorba 90% NF prices too held steady.

 Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat on Index.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change on 3^rd August, 2020.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady when compared with the previous day.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.

304 SS Solid prices too remained flat over the previous day.

304 SS Turning witnessed no change in prices on August 3^rd, 2020.

309 SS and 310 SS prices saw no change in price on a daily basis.

330 SS prices were flat from the prior day.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too remained unchanged on Index.

 Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region soared on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator prices surged higher by $0.02 per Lb each on August 3^rd, 2020.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices remained unchanged over the day.

Red Brass Rod Borings and Yellow Brass prices increased by $0.02 per Lb each on Index.
