2nd October, 2020: North American Scrap Metal Prices Surged on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices continued to surge higher on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on October 2^nd, Friday. Aluminum, Brass and Bronze scrap prices too were up on Index. Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained flat on Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.09 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.09 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.09 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery edged higher by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices inched higher by $0.02 per Lb each. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.09 per Lb.

Copper Radiator prices were up by $0.03 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Transformer scrap were unchanged on Index.

Cu Yokes prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on Index.  Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices witnessed no change from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe remained unchanged on October 2^nd, 2020.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb on Index.

Heater Cores and Romex Wire prices went higher by $0.02 per Lb each on Index.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors edged higher by $0.01 per Lb.

Starters and Sealed units remained unchanged on Index.

Xmas Lights prices saw no change from previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too rose by $0.01 per Lb each.

The prices of 6061 Extrusions inched higher by $0.01 per Lb over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6063 Extrusions edged higher by $0.02 per Lb and $0.01 per Lb respectively when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe were flat on Index. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices remained unchanged on October 2^nd, 2020.

Chrome Wheels edged higher by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices were up marginally by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.

Litho Sheets and Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices climbed higher by $0.01 per Lb each from previous day’s levels.

MLC Clips, Old Cast and UBC prices too were up by $0.02 per Lb.

Old Sheet and Zorba 90% NF prices too surged higher by $0.02 per Lb each.

Painted Siding prices soared by $0.01 per Lb.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat on Index.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change on 2^nd October, 2020.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady when compared with the previous day.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.

304 SS Solid prices too remained flat over the previous day.

304 SS Turning witnessed no change in prices on October 2^nd, 2020.

309 SS and 310 SS prices saw no change in price on a daily basis.

330 SS prices were flat from the prior day.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too remained unchanged on Index.

 Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region soared on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb.

80/20 Brass Scrap and 85/15 Brass Scrap surged higher by $0.02 per Lb each on October 2^nd, 2020.

Brass Radiator prices were up by $0.01 per Lb.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices remained unchanged over the day.

Red Brass, Yellow Brass and Rod Borings prices increased by $0.02 per Lb each on Index.
