20th May, 2020: North American Scrap Metal Prices Soared on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices remained buoyant on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on May 20^th, Wednesday. Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Brass and Bronze scrap prices too surged higher on Index. Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices                                                       

The price of Alternator scrap remained unchanged over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.04 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.04 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.04 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery have increased by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were up by $0.01 per Lb. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.04 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap saw slight increase by $0.01 per Lb. Copper Transformer Scrap and Cu Yokes prices were flat on Index. Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices too saw no change from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe were unmoved on May 20^th, 2020.

Heater Cores and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were up slightly by $0.01 per Lb.

Romex Wire prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units and Xmas Lights witnessed no change.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices moved higher by $0.01 per Lb. The prices of 3003 Scrap too increased by $0.01 per Lb. An up move of $0.01 per Lb was witnessed in 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean). Meantime, 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions prices saw increase of $0.01 per Lb each over the day. 6063 Extrusions and 6063 Extrusions/Fe prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb each.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe held steady over the previous day. The prices of Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery prices too were unchanged from the previous day. Aluminum Transformer prices saw no change on prices on 20^th May, 2020.

Chrome Wheels witnessed rise of $0.01 per Lb. Mixed Aluminum Turnings recorded marginal rise by $0.01 per Lb.

E.C Aluminum Wire and MLC Clips were up by $0.01 per Lb each.

The prices of Old Cast, Litho Sheets, Old Sheet and Painted Sliding increased by $0.01 per Lb each.

UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb each.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat on Index.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change on 20^th May, 2020.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS  prices remained flat on Index.

301 SS and 304 SS Solid prices edged higher by $0.01 per Lb each as on May 20^th.

304 SS Turning prices were unchanged on Index.

The price of 309 SS and 316 SS Solid scrap inched higher by $0.01 per Lb each over the day.

310 SS prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb.

330 SS prices reported a jump by $0.03 per Lb.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region soared on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap prices surged higher by $0.01 per Lb each on May 20^th, 2020.

Brass Radiator, Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices remained unchanged over the day.

Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices too were flat on Index.
