18th March, 2020-North American Scrap Metal Prices Dropped Sharply on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American scrap metal prices tumbled on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on March 18^th, Wednesday. Aluminum and Copper scrap prices declined on Index. Stainless Steel, Brass and Bronze scrap prices too were down over the previous day. Meantime, Steel scrap prices held steady on Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap edged down by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing  and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were down by $0.24 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright too dropped by $0.24 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery declined by $0.05 per Lb over the day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were down by $0.04 per Lb. #3 Copper-Light copper prices tumbled by $0.24 per Lb from previous day’s level.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap witnessed marginal decline by $0.02 per Lb from previous day’s levels. Copper Transformer Scrap and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices inched lower by $0.02 per Lb. CuYokes prices were down by $0.02 per Lb from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe dipped by $0.02 per Lb each on March 18^th, 2020.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices edged lower by $0.04 per Lb.

Heater cores prices were down by $0.03 per Lb on Index.

The price of Romex Wire witnessed a decline of $0.05 per Lb during the day.     

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units, Starters and Xmas Lights dipped by $0.02 per Lb each from previous day price levels.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices edged lower by $0.01 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap were down by $0.01 per Lb. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too recorded decline by $0.01 per Lb each.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions and 5052 Scrap price were down by $0.01 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively over the day.

6061 Extrusions recorded a decline by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe dropped by $0.02 per Lb each on Index. Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformer prices too saw no change. Breakage 50% Recovery prices held steady on 18^th March, 2020.

Chrome Wheels recorded marginal decline by $0.02 and $0.01 per Lb respectively on Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire and Litho Sheets inched lower by $0.01 per Lb each on Index.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings witnessed no change from previous day’s levels.

MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet and Painted Siding prices were down by $0.01 per Lb each on Index.

UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices too declined by $0.01 per Lb.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat over the previous day.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too witnessed no change on 18^th March, 2020.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady on Index.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also reported no change in prices in comparison with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices dropped by $0.01 per Lb each.

304 SS Solid prices too were down by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.

304 SS Turning witnessed slight decline by $0.01 per Lb on 18^th March, 2020.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices declined marginally by $0.03 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively.

310 SS and 330 SS prices were down by $0.04 per Lb each from the prior day.

 Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region declined on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap and 85/15 Brass Scrap prices dropped by $0.06 per Lb each on Wednesday, March 18^th, 2020.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were down by $0.04 per Lb.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices edged down by $0.02 per Lb and $0.01 per Lb respectively on Index.

Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices were down by $0.06 per Lb each.
