11th May, 2023-North American Scrap Metal Prices Declined Sharply on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American scrap metal prices tumbled on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on May 11^th, Thursday. Brass, Bronze and Copper scrap prices declined on Index. Aluminum and Steel scrap prices recorded decline over the previous day. Meantime, Stainless Steel scrap prices held steady on Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap witnessed marginal dip by $0.01 per Lb on Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing  and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were down by $0.14 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright too dropped by $0.14 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery were down by $0.03 per Lb over the day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices too dropped by $0.02 per Lb on Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices tumbled by $0.14 per Lb from previous day’s level.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap witnessed downmove by $0.04 per Lb from previous day’s levels. Copper Transformer Scrap and CuYokes prices were down marginally by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.

Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices too dropped by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe witnessed a dip by $0.04 per Lb each on May 11^th, 2023.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Heater cores prices were down by $0.02 per Lb and $0.03 per Lb respectively on Index.

The price of Romex Wire dropped by $0.03 per Lb during the day.     

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units, Starters and Xmas Lights saw marginal decline by $0.01 per Lb from previous day price levels.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices inched lower by $0.04 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap were down by $0.04 per Lb on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions too declined by $0.04 per Lb each.

The prices of 6061 Extrusions recorded decline of $0.03 per Lb over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6063 Extrusions/Fe dipped by $0.04 per Lb and $0.03 per Lb respectively when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe were down by $0.04 per Lb each on Index. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices inched lower by $0.02 per Lb and $0.01 per Lb respectively. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices edged down by $0.01 per Lb each on May 11^th, 2023.

Chrome Wheels were down by $0.03 per Lb on Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched lower by $0.06 per Lb over the previous day.

Litho Sheets and MLC Clips were down by $0.04 per Lb and $0.03 per Lb respectively from previous day’s levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices dropped by $0.03 per Lb.

The prices of Old Sheet, Old Cast, Zorba and UBC saw dip by $0.03 per Lb each over the previous day.

Painted Siding prices too were down by $0.04 per Lb each.

 Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle and #1 Busheling prices edged lower by $30 per MT each over the previous day.

The prices of #1 HMS too witnessed a decline by $15 per MT on 11^th May, 2023.

HMS 80/20 prices dropped by $20 per MT on Index.

Sheet Metal prices dipped by $20 per MT.

Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel prices also were down by $25 per MT and $15 per MT respectively in comparison with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were flat on Index.

301 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning and 309 SS prices witnessed no change in prices on May 11^th, 2023.

310 SS prices were unchanged on a daily basis.

330 SS prices were flat when compared with the prior day.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too held steady on Index.

 Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region declined on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices dropped by $0.04 per Lb each on Thursday, May 11^th, 2023.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices were down by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices tumbled by $0.04 per Lb each.
