HISTORY:

1970: Northern Strands becomes exclusive Trefileurope, North American mining rope representative

1978: Expand products to offer general purpose wire rope and rigging.Northern Strands

1979: Supplied 3-1/2" diameter Full Locked Track Rope over Revelstoke Dam.

1980: Oxy Oil (CB Site) Colorado, western world's largest Friction Hoist (52 ton Skips) commissioned.

1982: Con Mine, Yellowknife, NWT Friction Hoist Shaft deepened from 3,800 ft to 6,400 ft.

1983: Northern Strands introduces first Plastic Enhanced Rope, now an industry standard.

1999: Agrium Potash converts Friction Hoist to Notorplast Ropes, achieve record hoisted tones.

2002: Extensive metric high performance ropes added to meet increasing European crane market presence.

2004: Northern Strands supplies Sinking Ropes of 10,200ft to Kidd "D" Nickel Mine, Timmins, ON.

2006: Saskatoon Head Office moves into 18,000 sq.ft. facility.

2007: Mosaic, world's largest AC Koepe Hoist, installs Notorplast Hoist Ropes.

2007: Provides Rio Tinto's Mongolia deep shaft project with rope attachments.

2007: Safety Division addresses specific market request for Engineered Fall Protection Systems.

2010: Northern Strands adds a Suspended Access Division to meet growing market needs.

2012: Engineered Fall Protection Division grows into a 10,000 sq. ft. expansion.

2013: Northern Strands supplies Hud Bay Minerals with production ropes and attachments for its Lalor Project in Snow lake, Manitoba.
