History

The Müller-Guttenbrunn Group consists of a number of 100% family-owned companies. The roots of the Müller-Guttenbrunn family lie in Romania, where a Müller family lived in the small village of Guttenbrunn (Romanian: Zabrany). An ancestor of the Müller-Guttenbrunn family - Mr. Adam Müller-Guttenbrunn - was born here and left the region in 1879 to work as a writer and director at the Vienna Volksoper, making Austria the new home country for the Müller-Guttenbrunn family. 1954 - a few generations later - Mr. Ing.Herbert Müller-Guttenbrunn started an iron trading company in Waidhofen / Ybbs (Austria).

Due to the steady growth of the company, the company moved to a larger area in Amstetten (Austria). The headquarters of the Müller-Guttenbrunn Group are still located on this company site today. Based on the group's further growth, the processing of the non-ferrous fractions was outsourced to a new plant in Kematen / Ybbs (Austria).

While the two sons Herbert Müller-Guttenbrunn (right picture) and Dietrich Müller-Guttenbrunn (left picture) held the management, the company experienced great growth.

International activities also developed in the second generation from 1990 onwards. These international activities developed mainly in the Southeast European region. In the meantime, the business field with its own companies extends from Austria to the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.

When KR Herbert Müller-Guttenbrunn retired in 2006, Mag. Ing.Christian Müller-Guttenbrunn took overthe management of MGG. In October 2012 he founded a new recycling plant in Frumuseni, Romania, a few kilometers from Zabrany (German: Guttenbrunn), almost back to the roots of the Müller-Guttenbrunn family. 

Values

The Müller-Guttenbrunn Group sees its mission in the development and operation of recycling systems for a wide range of durable goods and metals. The key points are the recycling depth offered, the environmental responsibility and the flexibility of a family company.
Logistics plays a decisive role in our industry, which we cover with our own fleet of vehicles (trucks, containers), our own sidings and port access in the group. Attention is paid to a lean and flat corporate structure.

Our mission in summary:

Social responsibility: Communication is of the utmost importance to the Müller-Guttenbrunn Group. Precisely because the industry is made up of a complex network of interest groups: EU, national and regional authorities, take-back systems, collection points, community organizations, suppliers, customers, employees, etc.

Ecological responsibility - sustainability: Saving energy and CO2 emissions compared to the production of new products, EU raw material initiatives, recycling depth. The local and regional environmental concerns are always kept in mind.

Profitability: The continuous development and expansion is ensured by the constant observation of the market and decisive parameters. Well-founded knowledge and the best available technology form the basis for efficient and effective recycling in addition to a lean corporate structure in order to return material to the production cycle in a targeted manner.
