What began as a scrap and raw materials trade in 1934 has expanded over decades. Today we offer you a wide range of services related to the topic of "waste disposal and recycling". 

Proper disposal is important to us - annual certification has long since become a matter of course. We strive for innovations and improvements so that we can always find an absolutely safe and environmentally friendly solution! ... for the environment and the future! 

Good team - good work! Some of our employees have been with us for over 20 years! Experience and new ideas come together here. This is how an efficient team can grow together! Doesn't work, doesn't exist :-)

We are of course particularly pleased about our customers. Many regular customers find their way to us again and again, but new ones are added all the time ... wonderful! What could be nicer than a customer who is satisfied and likes to come back! Thank you very much for that!

The good old times

1934 - the company was founded by Franz Heidelbach. The raw material and scrap trade begins on Berliner Strasse. From humble beginnings into a rapidly growing company. 

The plant, which was completely destroyed by bombs in 1942 , was relocated to Feldhauser Strasse and rebuilt there despite considerable difficulties. Office buildings, metal and sorting halls are built. 

1962 - Wilhelm “Jünne” Heidelbach takes over the management after the death of his father. In the meantime, around 30 employees are busy sorting the accumulating material, which is still being transported away by horse-drawn vehicles during this time. Later they adapt to the traffic situation - trucks are bought, the company gets its own siding, so that a large part of the scrap loading is done by road and rail. In the post-war period, the sorting and marketing of used clothes is also an important pillar - a further 15 employees were employed in this area. The goods are sorted on conveyor belts and then pressed into bales and marketed. Most of the goods are even sent to Italy. 

1975 -  Wilhelm Heidelbach dies completely unexpectedly at the age of 52. The family business is on "knife edge". On the spur of the moment, his 25-year-old daughter Carina and her husband take over the management. After the initial stumbling blocks have been overcome, the processes for sorting and processing scrap and metals are further developed and modernized. The used clothing branch is discontinued. Environmental awareness is growing - the first steps towards recycling and environmental protection are already being taken here. In the following years, new pillars were created - old areas were expanded.

1996 -  The team is enlarged by a family member. The fourth generation is following in the family footsteps. The company now lives in the "two generation system" - "lived experience meets new ideas".  

1997  - Heidelbach Metall Recycling GmbH is one of the first companies in North Rhine-Westphalia to be certified as a waste management company. Since then, follow-up certifications have taken place annually ... the operational and environmental organization automatically increases due to the increasing legal requirements. Areas are constantly being optimized, systems renewed and new directions taken. Standstill is a step backwards - in order to survive in the market, investments are made regularly in operating equipment. 

2007  - Relocation of the company to Stollenstrasse 25. The company premises are larger and more modern. Some renovation work is being carried out in order to tailor the site to the offer of Heidelbach GmbH. 

2011  - The company has settled down well at its new location. Some new jobs have been created, the staff has settled in well, not only the small customers, but also their own logistics have benefited from the improved space conditions in recent years. The management is expanded by another family member in the fourth generation. 

2014  - 80 years! Many memories, mountains and valleys are behind us, new paths have been taken, tried and tested things have been retained. Discussions, decisions, investments ... everything didn't always go according to plan ... but that's life! By and large, we are proud of these 80 years! Still, no time to rest - standing still means going backwards ... we look forward to more exciting years and to the things to come .... !!!
 
2017 -  10 years of Stollenstraße! There is still something going on!
