GESPESA (Gestión y Explitación de Servicios Públicos Extremeños, SAU), is a company of the Public Group Gpex (Sociedad de Gestión Pública de Extremadura, SAU)
GESPESA was born in 1992 to carry out the management of the facilities built by the Junta de Extremadura for the collection and treatment of Domestic Waste in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura.
As a result of environmental legislation, the Extremadura Board approves the Comprehensive Waste Plan 2009-2015 (DOE number 73, of Tuesday April 20, 2010) that promotes a series of measures aimed at the Reduction, Reuse, Recycling and Valuation of them. GESPESA is in charge of the actions to be carried out in matters of Domestic Waste in the Autonomous Community by virtue of a Management Entrustment Agreement signed with the Extremadura Government.
