World Steel Trade Body Announced Shortlist for the 16th Steelie Awards

The Steelie Awards recognise member companies for their contribution to the steel industry over a one-year period.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) announced the shortlist for the 16th Steelie Awards. The names of the winners will be released on Monday, October 13, 2025.

The following businesses have been shortlisted under the 'Excellence in low-carbon steel production' category: JSW Steel Limited, EMSTEEL, China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited, and ArcelorMittal.

POSCO, JFE Steel Corporation, InfraBuild, and HYUNDAI Steel Company made the shortlist for the 'Innovation of the Year' award.

For the 'Excellence in Sustainability' award, the trade association shortlisted China Steel Corporation (CSC), EMSTEEL, Gerdau S.A., HBIS Group Co. Ltd., HYUNDAI Steel Company, Mobarakek Steel Company, and Ternium.

ArcelorMittal, CITIC Pacific Special Steel Group Co. Ltd., HBIS Group, Jingye Group, JSW Steel, and POSCO were among the firms that made the short list under the 'Excellence in Life Cycle Assessment' category.

In the 'Excellence in People' category, ArcelorMittal, China Steel Corporation (CSC), JSW Steel Ltd., POSCO, Tata Steel Ltd., and Ternium made the short list.

Additionally, Worldsteel said that the following companies have been shortlisted under the 'Excellence in Communications Program' category: ArcelorMittal, Gerdau SA, JSE Steel Limited, Tenaris, Ternium, UNESID, and United States Steel Corporation.

Over the course of a year, member companies are recognized for their contributions to the steel industry through the Steelie Awards.
