Acclaimed speaker and author Derek Young will bring the keynote address at the Awards of Excellence luncheon on Sept. 17.
SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): The Tennessee Department of Transportation and Keep Tennessee Beautiful announces the 2025 Biennial Conference, Sept. 16-17 at Embassy Suites Hotel & Conference Center in Murfreesboro, TN. This year’s theme is “The Heart of a Great Community: Connecting, Cultivating and Celebrating Impact.” Acclaimed speaker and author Derek Young will bring the keynote address at the Awards of Excellence luncheon on Sept. 17.
KTnB Executive Director Missy Marshall states, “The Biennial Conference is a highly anticipated event among statewide partners and colleagues. It is always exciting to join TDOT in presenting the Awards of Excellence to Tennessee’s great environmental leaders. Collectively, we work to engage and inspire our citizens to help keep their communities clean, green, healthy and safe.”
Litter prevention organizations from across Tennessee are invited to join the conference to exchange ideas and hear from experts in the field. The event offers opportunities to learn about new grants and network with like-minded associates. Plans include the official launch of The KTnB YouTube channel. This new litter prevention tool features educational videos targeted to students, teachers, volunteers and all Tennesseans interested in making the state more beautiful.
Several of Tennessee’s top environmental leaders will collectively receive $56,000 in grant funding as the 2025 Awards of Excellence recipients. The six categories to be awarded are: Public Education, Public Participation, Leadership, TDOT County Litter Grant Programs, Keep America Beautiful TN Affiliate Award, Keep Tennessee Beautiful State Level Affiliate Award, and four distinguished leadership awards.
“KTnB is much more than a litter prevention organization,” Marshall continued. “We are a community improvement organization, working to accomplish our mission through education, engagement and enforcement.”
