NEW DELHI (Scrap Monster) : As per recent analysis report published by leading research analysts firm, the Asia-Pacific E-waste recycling market is expected to touch $ 4.01 billion by 2017.

According to the analysis done by Frost & Sullivan, there is an increased accumulation of electrical and electronic waste in the region, mainly due to the rapid pace of industrialization and technological advancements. The E-waste recycling market which was worth $1.85 billion in 2012 is set to more than double in five years. The e-waste recycling market would be worth $4.01 billion by 2017.

Most Asian consumers use the electronic and electrical products only until the use-by-date. Many are unaware of the potential lifetime of components beyond its end-of-life (EOL).Disposal of electronics in this manner have thus contributed to the massive increase in electronic and electrical waste.

The governments in the region have started giving more impetus to improving e-waste recycling by implementing constructive amendments to the existing laws. The report finds that there is a lack of awareness among the consumers with regards to safe disposal of electronic and electrical used products.
