VIENNA (Scrap Monster) : The Central European country of Austria is said to have unveiled an E-scrap shredder having 80,000 tonnes yearly capacity.
The E-scrap shredder manufactured by German Albert Hoffmann was unveiled by the European e-scrap recycling firm Muller-Guttenbrunn Group (MCG). The equipment is said to have a capacity to process 80,000 tonnes per year. MCG claims that the e-scrap shredder is the largest in Austria. The company feels that such huge investments are further required to enable Austria achieve its WEEE recycling targets.
According to data, Austria collected 74 770 tonnes of e-scrap in 2011. The volume of e-scrap collected in 2012 is almost in the same range. Surveys show that small electronic devices constitute majority of the e-scrap collected. Such heavy equipment are required to handle increasing quantities of e-scrap.
