NEW YORK (Scrap Monster): The United States Scrap exports may reach 22.95 million tons this year, according to a research report.
As per latest United States Census Bureau data, country's scrap exports dropped sharply by 25.1% year-on-year to 2.084 million tons in August this year and up by 7.4% month-on-month.
US scrap exports declined by 9.3% year-on-year to 15.303 million tons in the first eight months of this year, the data showed.
In August, Turkey was the largest importer of the US scraps with 508,000 tons, decreased by 36.5% year-on-year.
Taiwan was the second largest importer with 397,000 tons of US scrap, up by 0.2% year-on-year.
South Korea was the third largest importer of US scrap with 256,000 tons, declined by 24.2% year-on-year.
