Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey, the country's main trading partner, reached 62,014 metric tons in the first eight months of this year, declined by 69.6% year-on-year, as per the latest data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

ATLANTA (Scrap Monster): Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey, the country's main trading partner, reached 62,014 metric tons in the first eight months of this year, declined by 69.6% year-on-year, as per the latest data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

The country's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey have been declining on a cumulative basis more than a year, since the January-July period of 2011.

The revenue generated by these exports fell to $22.6 million, down 69.9% from the year-ago figure, indicating that the country's average export price for ferrous scrap to Turkey in the period in question was $364/mt, down from $369/mt in the corresponding period of 2011.

Meanwhile, in the given period Georgia's ferroalloy exports to Turkey decreased 12.1% year-on-year, totaling 12,427 metric tons.
