Japan Stainless flat Steel exports fall 17.1% y-o-y in July

Japan's stainless flat steel exports declined by 17.1% year-on-year to 61,155 metric tons (mt) in July and decreased by 14.2% month-on-month, as per the latest statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance.
TOKYO (Scrap Monster): Japan's stainless flat steel exports declined by 17.1% year-on-year to 61,155 metric tons (mt) in July and decreased by 14.2% month-on-month, as per the latest statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance.
In July this year, Japanese stainless flat steel exports to China totaled 12,879 mt, while exports to South Korea amounted to 12,284 mt, decreased by 29% and 27.35% respectively, both compared to the same month of the previous year.
In July 2012, the country's stainless flat steel exports to Thailand amounted to 8,891 mt, up 24.7%, exports to Taiwan totaled 7,944 mt, rose 4.8%, while stainless flat steel exports to Hong Kong came to 3,092 mt, down 10.5%, all on year-on-year basis.
Meanwhile, Japanese stainless flat steel imports in July amounted to 12,014 mt, rose by 6.6% year-on-year.
