Japan's ferrous scrap exports totaled 725,881 metric tons in June this year, increasing by 4.8 percent month-on-month and up 92.6% year-on-year, said the latest statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance.

TOKYO (Scrap Monster): Japan's ferrous scrap exports totaled 725,881 metric tons in June this year, increasing by 4.8 percent month-on-month and up 92.6% year-on-year, said the latest statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance.

Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, Japan's scrap exports amounted to 4.08 million metric tons, increasing by 68.8 percent year on year.

In the first six months of the year, Japanese scrap exports to South Korea totaled 2.4 million metric tons, while exports to China amounted to 1.48 million metric tons, increasing by 81.5 percent and up 42 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
