Russia's Severstal Crude Steel output declines in Q2

Russian steelmaker Severstal posted its crude steel output down in Russia and North America for the second quarter from the first quarter of this year.

MOSCOW (Scrap Monster): Russian steelmaker Severstal posted its crude steel output down in Russia and North America for the second quarter from the first quarter of this year.

However, its production in the first half rose compared to the same period of 2011, driven by higher output in North America.

The output increased by 4% to 7.8 million tons in the first half of this year, in which the production from North America was 1.84 million tons, a 33% jump from one year earlier.

For the products, the sales of color coated steel rose significantly as its output in second quarter came with 30% rise from a quarter earlier.
