US primary Aluminium output rises 9000 tons in May: USGS

United States primary aluminium production advanced sharply by 9000 tons to 179000 tons in the month of May, as per latest data released by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

NEW YORK (Scrap Monster): United States primary aluminium production advanced sharply by 9000 tons to 179000 tons in the month of May, as per latest data released by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

According to USGS data, country produced 170000 tons of primary aluminium in May last year and 174000 tons a month earlier.

The average daily production of Aluminium in US was 5780 tonnes that was 6% higher than May 2011.

Total aluminum recovered from scrap in May 2012 was 298000 tonnes, 5% more than the amount recovered in the previous month and 15% more than the amount recovered in May 2011.
