LME Copper prices up slightly, Steel rises sharply

London Metal Exchange (LME) copper prices advanced slightly in light, directionless trade on Wednesday, boosted by a stronger euro after an early slide due to weak U.S. retail sales data that fed fears about demand in the world's largest economy.
LONDON (Scrap Monster): London Metal Exchange (LME) copper prices advanced slightly in light, directionless trade on Wednesday, boosted by a stronger euro after an early slide due to weak U.S. retail sales data that fed fears about demand in the world's largest economy.
Other base metals prices also headed in negative direction in LME market except zinc and steel. Steel prices advanced sharply by 19.2% to $375 per metric ton on Wednesday.
LME Price Highlights:
--Aluminium alloy slipped 0.09% to $1800 a metric ton
--Aluminium slipped 0.1% to $1923.50 per metric ton
--Copper rose 0.18% to $7397 a metric ton
--Lead dipped 0.58% to $1882 per metric ton
--Nickel remain unchanged at $17080 per metric ton
--Tin dipped 0.48% to $19505 per metric ton
--Zinc advanced 0.37% to $1884.50 a metric ton
--Steel surged 19.2% to $375 per metric ton
