The demand for paper products is rising in some of the APAC countries, mainly for grade paper packaging and corrugated paper products. Also, paper packaging has increased the consumption of paper to a higher level.
But on the other side, paper usage decreased drastically in the e-world. Internet has beaten paper in the fields of information dissemination and inter- office communication. With the onset of internet, a new concept of paperless world is emerging.
China is the leading producer of paper in the world. Proximity to raw materials, low labour costs, rapid capacity expansions, low cost manufacturing regions and a wide untapped customer base make China strong in the global paper market.
Waste paper recycling is another major change in the paper industry. The introduction of GCC and PCC has revived the field of paper production.
There is growing interest for recycling and recycled fibres since they are eco friendly. Moreover, it helps the manufacturers to save on production costs.
