Brazil's semi-finished iron and steel product exports amounted to 7.2 million mt in 2011, rising 36.4 percent compared to 2010
BRASILIA (Scrap Monster): Brazil's semi-finished iron and steel product exports amounted to 7.2 million mt in 2011, rising 36.4 percent compared to 2010, according to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
The revenue generated by these exports came to $4.64 billion, up 78.89 percent from the year-ago figure.
Meanwhile, Brazil's flat steel exports in 2011 totaled 2.2 million metric tons, falling by 7.21 percent year on year, with the revenue generated by these exports coming to $2 billion, up 10.87 percent over the 2010 level.
