PepsiCo promotes recycling with rewards

PepsiCo and Waste Management together have sponsored a recycling program by which for each bottle or aluminum can recycled at its recycling center earns a point on his account card, which can be redeemed online

FORT WAYNE (Scrap Monster): PepsiCo and Waste Management together have sponsored a recycling program by which for each bottle or aluminum can recycled at its recycling center earns a point on his account card, which can be redeemed online.

In Fort Wayne, Marathon gasoline station hosts the program. Consumers who recycle aluminum cans and plastic bottles earn points, which can be translated into gifts or coupons.

The program is appreciated by the people, the retailers who have kept the unit for a few days are already being used by customers.

Several customers told that they don’t mind taking the recyclables to a bin next to the store. People in fact hate to see the bottles go in the dumpster and not be recycled.

For each recycled bottle or can, PepsiCo will donate funds to help disabled veterans begin their own businesses. Other than Fort Wayne, Marathon gasoline station only three other U.S. Marathon stations have the program, two in Ohio and one in North Carolina, nacsonline.com reported.
