President Mark Blackburn has been in the waste industry for over 35 years, and is President of the Los Angeles County Disposal Association. Universal Waste Systems Inc. is one of the largest locally family owned and operated company in Los Angeles County.UWS has six operating facilities located in Santa Fe Springs (2), Los Angeles, South Gate, Costa Mesa, and Perris.UWS operates a transfer station out of our Los Angeles Facility transferring over 45,000 tons of solid waste to local landfills per year. UWS is contracted to provide solid waste, recycling, and green waste service to over 20,000 single family homes, and is contracted with the City of Los Angeles to provide multifamily recycling to the entire San Fernando Valley collecting recyclables from over 150,000 units per week.

Our liquid waste division White House Sanitation and OH Casey pumps and transfer over 2.5 million gallons of liquid waste per year.

Commercial Recycling

California's mandatory commercial recycling law, AB341, came into effect on July 1, 2012.It requires all and any business, and that includes public entities, that generates four cubic yards or more of commercial solid waste per week, to arrange for recycling services with their waste hauler.As your local service provider, UWS complies with all applicable laws and provides this service to all businesses that fall under these new rules.
