O.C. Sanitation Inc. is a family owned and operated waste removal company. Don Wielenga founded O.C. Sanitation, Inc. in 1968. Brad Wielenga and Sandy Wielenga-Albers now own and operate it. Don is still in the office every day to provide his viewpoints and experience. We have over 70 years of combined experience in waste removal services. O.C. Sanitation started with 1 truck and 18 customers and has grown to what we are today. We currently have 2 roll-off trucks, 5 rear-load garbage trucks, and 1 small mini-pack truck. We serve municipalities, commercial/business, industrial, residential and rural customers throughout the Siouxland area. We provide residential service, 95 gallon cart service, rear-load dumpsters, and open top roll-off containers and recycling.O.C. Sanitation provides prompt and courteous service. Our company and employees prides ourselves in the way we do business. We put our customers first. The service we provide is based on our customer's needs. This attitude is an important contributor to not only our success, but to the success and satisfaction of each customer we serve. We would like to have you as one of our valuable customers.In 2010 OC Sanitation added Portable Toilets to complete our waste removal services. We offer Daily, Weekly, or Monthly Rentals. Residential Service

O.C. Sanitation provides residential service to many communities throughout the Siouxland area. Following is a limited preview of our coverage area and pickup days. Please call the office for more detailed scheduling and if we offer service in your area.

• All solid waste shall be put in plastic bags, disposable boxes or approved containers not to exceed 60 gal.
• 95 gallon optional for rental (please contact if interested)
• No articles exceeding 5 foot in length or 65 pounds shall be set out for collection.
• 55 gallon barrels are not approved containers
• All solid waste shall be put in plastic bags, disposable boxes or approved containers not to exceed 90 gal.
• one 95 gallon container provided with pickup.
• extra containers available for rental if needed. (please contact if interested)
• one 60 gallon container provided with pickup. 95 gallon optional but call office for more information.

Not all items are allowed to enter the waste stream at the landfill. If you have any of these items, please feel free to call our office to discuss other methods of disposal.

Recycling

Waste Management is becoming a very critical situation nationwide. People can separate six kinds of material from their regular trash. The six kinds of material are plastic, glass, paper, cardboard, tin cans and aluminum foil containers.

Items that should not be recycled and should remain in your regular trash are:

• Glass: Pyrex glass, window glass, light bulbs, mirrors, china or colored glass.
• Plastics: Styrofoam, saran wrap, bread wrappers, shopping bags, fast food containers, rigid plastics, laundry bags and disposable diapers. Plastic shopping bags should be returned to the store where purchased or disposed of in the garbage.
• Tin Cans: Aerosol cans and paint cans
• Medical Wastes: are not recyclable and shouldn't be disposed of in the garbage either. This includes infectious wastes, needles and syringes, scalpels, urine specimens bottles, donated blood bottles and needles. This material should be disposed of at a hospital incinerator and the sharps should be ground up.
