Recycling revenues can help defray recycling costs and avert the need for new disposal capacity. Every cubic yard of material recycled is one less cubic yard of landfill space required. These avoided costs are part of the “revenues” that recycling brings to a community. In 1996, 130 million cubic yards of material were diverted from landfills due to recycling and composting. If this amount of material had not been recycled, the U.S. would have needed 64 additional landfills, each with enough capacity to serve the combined city populations of Dallas and Detroit. By substituting recovered scrap materials for the use of trees, metal ores, minerals, oil, and other virgin materials, recycling reduces the pressure to expand forestry and mining production. Recycling one ton of paper saves the equivalent of 17 trees and 7,000 gallons of water. Fossil fuels and metals are nonrenewable resources. Here at NGTS we have set ourselves apart with our entrepreneurial spirit and aim to please. We offer the several different options for single stream recycling. The most popular service we offer is the drop trailer service. All recyclables are placed on one trailer, brought back to our plant and processed. Another option is to drop a roll off compactor or open top container. This solution offers clients with limited space the ability to have all scraps collected in one container. The last option is for us to place a baler at the customer’s plant. We supply the baler, wire ties, as well prompt pickup when there is a load of bales ready for pickup.
