COLUMBUS (Scrap Monster): Westerville, Ohio –based Geo-Tech Polymers Inc. will expand its operations at the Waverly plastics recycling facility by utilizing the grant of $34,000 which has been awarded to the company by Fluor-B&W Portsmouth LLC. The Waverly facility recycles several types of plastics. The plant makes use of detergents and employs water-based technique to remove coatings from post-industrial and post-consumer plastics. It plans to expand its current capacity of 50,000 square foot in order to recycle more plastic quantities. The company plans to employ 50 people at the facility. The plant will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Geo-Tech expects to produce 20 million pounds of recycled plastic per year.

Geo-Tech Polymers in Waverly recycles coated plastics used in consumer and automotive applications. It removes the paint and metals coatings and reclaims the plastics substrate materials without using chemicals or solvents that would degrade the properties or appearance of the materials.
