US Steel and Hamilton workers grip on the agreement

Both the United Steel company and also the United Steelworkers Union, has come to an agreement in regards holding up of Hamilton workers, making it the first time the Canada steel not locking up its workers.

OTTAWA (Scrap Mponster): During the year, 2007, United States Steel purchased Stelco, which was later turned into US Steel Canada, and since then the company has started to lock down the workers at the same time to keep up on the Hamilton workers agreement and also the same thing happened two times in the company’s Lake Erie operations which is located in Nanticoke

After about one month from the court order which granted bankruptcy protection to the company, the agreement has reached at  the right time before the expiry date, which is today. The agreement comprises all the six hundred who are still working for the company and also other10,000 retired workers.

The protection  now extended to the month of January in the year 2015, the company, Ontario government, the lawyers and also the US Steel Worker’s Union together made a deal regarding the plans for financing the company, but the company is still producing at the protection of the CCAA act. The company stated to the court that it hopes to avail the  protection of the CCAA act until the end of the year 2015.
