US Stainless Steel import drop sharply in September
NEW YORK (Scrap Monster): The US stainless steel import has declined drastically to about 82,359 tons in September, down by nearly 20% from August, especially imported from Italy, as per latest data released by US Department of Commerce.
Most of slump in imports were main on the stainless steel hot rolled coil (HRC) as dropping over 10,000 tons suddenly from August to September, which is the worst in last 12 months.
Similarly, the stainless HRC imported from Italy to the US also tumbled sharply from 13,267 tons to only 3,530 tons.
