U.S. Mint Reduces In-Person Purchase Limit of Kennedy Half-Dollar Gold Coins

WASHINGTON (Scrap Monster): U.S. Mint has announced during Thursday that it has reduced the limit of in-person purchases of dual-dated 1964-2014 Proof 50th Anniversary Kennedy Half-Dollar Gold Coins to one. Previously the limit was two coins.

U.S. Mint Director of Corporate Communications, Tom Jurkowsky said that demand of the coin was too high and they wanted to give more people a chance to buy the extraordinary gold coin which was issued for commemorating the 50th anniversary of Kennedy half-dollar.

After reducing the limit, the Mint found that the collectors, who can get the coin at the upcoming Chicago 2014 ANA World’s Fair of Money, get doubled. It can also be obtained from over the counter sales points in Washington D.C., Denver and Philadelphia.

The coin has a restored Kennedy portrait and made out in three-quarters of a troy ounce of 0.9999 fine gold, that makes it so special.
