Turkey Iron Ore imports rise 25% m-o-m in Aug: TUIK

ANKARA (Scrap Monster): Turkey imported 689,492 tons of iron ore in August this year, a surge of 25% month-on-month and climb of 5% year-over-year from 142,620 tons as per the latest statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In August, Brazil was the largest iron ore exporter to Turkey with 246,270 tons, fell by 36.6% month-on-month and surged significantly from 30,723 tons in the same period of a year earlier.
In the first eight months of this year, Turkey’s iron ore exports amounted to 4.7 million tons, rose by 17.4% year-on-year.
In the given period of time, the country’s import values of iron ore totaled US$731 million, advanced by 9.1% year-on-year.
