NEW YORK (Scrap Monster) : Tulsa police is reported to have recovered the e-waste trailer of the Oklahoma-based Metropolitan Environmental Trust (M.e.t), which was stolen from their Sheridan site Monday.
The trailer which was half full when stolen was found empty. The police found the trailer almost seven miles away from the site. The signage was stripped. The equipment was found cut by metal cutter devices.
The company had been using the 8.5 feet X 20 feet electronic waste collection equipment for collecting unwanted electronic items such as cameras, computers, small appliances and batteries. M.e.t had announced Tuesday that it is temporarily suspending its e-waste collection activities. Efforts are on to bring back the trailer so that it can start accepting electronic waste as before at the earliest.
The M.e.t. which started its first recycling center in 1993, operates residential recycling drop-off locations and provide hazardous waste disposal for residents of communities.
