Troop 188 to take on Le Mars paper recycling initiative

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Boy Scouts of Troop 188 will take on the paper recycling drive from this Saturday onwards. The project started by a Le Mars Community Elementary teacher along with his students will continue to function in the same pattern. The students announced that the newspaper recycling drive conducted during the month of May was their last and henceforth the recycling project will be led by Scouts belonging to Troop 188.

Scoutmaster Todd Poulson announced that they have already arranged collection drive for newspapers and magazines the first Saturday of June. The public is requested to place the newspapers and magazines in separate sacks or bundles.

The money raised out of the collection will be used to replace equipment for the troop members and to attend summer camps. The 28-member Scouts welcomed others from the community to contribute to the recycling initiative.

The papers and magazines will be collected and recycled by Le Mars based Van’s Sanitation and Recycling.
