The Oklahoma-based Metropolitan Environmental Trust (M.e.t) has announced suspension of its waste collection activities following theft of the trailer equipment

NEW YORK (Scrap Monster) : The Oklahoma-based Metropolitan Environmental Trust (M.e.t) has announced suspension of its waste collection activities following theft of the trailer equipment.

According to M.e.t, the 8.5 feet X 20 feet electronic waste collection equipment was stolen from M.e.t’s  3495 S. Sheridan Road location. The company had been using the trailer for collecting unwanted electronic items such as cameras, computers, small appliances and batteries. The company authorities announced Tuesday that without the trailer found or replaced, M.e.t is not in a position to accept such wastes.

M.e.t’s volunteers had been successfully collecting around 4,000 pounds of e-waste per week. The trailer was reported missing by 10 am Tuesday. The company stated that the trailer had the company logo on its side and was empty when stolen.

Police investigations are on. The local general public is also requested to keep an eye and report to police if the trailer is found.

The M.e.t. which started its first recycling center in 1993, operates residential recycling drop-off locations and provide hazardous waste disposal for residents of communities.
