Syracuse to host Paper shredding event for residents on Sep 20th

ALBANY (Scrap Monster): The Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency (OCRRA) will host a free paper shredding event for County residents on September 20th. The event will take place from 8 AM to 12 PM at the NBT Bank Stadium, 1 Tex Simone Drive, Syracuse. The event is being organized in collaboration with the local paper shredding firms- Confidata and Shred Solvers.

According to OCRRA, only materials generated at home will be accepted. Business paper waste is not accepted at the event. Residents are urged to loosely pack their confidential documents in durable boxes, containers or paper bags. Plastic bags should not be used for packing the materials.

The residents need not exit from their vehicles. The materials will be unloaded from the vehicles by staff. The maximum number of boxes or paper bags accepted per vehicle is limited to five. The residents can make use of this opportunity to drop off papers containing confidential information such as bank account numbers, medical documents, tax documents etc.,. The collected paper waste will be safely shredded and recycled. The mobile shredding truck’s video screen helps residents to ensure that the delivered material is instantly dropped and shredded.

The residents can make donations to Muscular Dystrophy Association, if they wish to do so. The volunteers of the National Association of Letter Carriers Local Branch 134 will collect the donations, which will be utilized towards helping local families suffering from muscle ailments.
