South Korean Hyundai Steel buys 35,000 tons of US H1 scrap

ALBANY (Scrap Monster): As per trade reports, South Korean Hyundai Steel is believed to have entered into a purchase agreement with Schnitzer Steel towards supply of US H1 scrap. The export prices were settled at US$372 per ton C&F for November delivery. The current transaction prices remained flat when compared with previous prices.

Meanwhile, The US H1 scrap price average prices were at $362.50 per long ton, as on 15th September, 2014. The scrap average prices remained unchanged from the previous week.

The average price of US H1 scrap in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Philadelphia was $362.50 per long ton, remaining flat from the previous week.  

The H1 scrap average price in Pittsburg was $369.50 per long ton.  The average price maintained the previous week’s price. In Chicago the prices averaged at $369.50 per long ton, holding steady and keeping the previous week’s price levels. The average price in Philadelphia was $348.50 per long ton. The prices here too witnessed no change from a week before.

The H1 prices averaged at $299.17 per long ton in New York, Houston and Boston, keeping unchanged from the previous week.

The scrap average prices had climbed higher by $5 per long ton on September 8th after holding steady for twelve consecutive weeks.
