TOLEDO (Scrap Monster): Two men suspected of trying to steal scrap metal from a Boardman business face charges.
The owner of a home along South Avenue called 9-1-1 at around 1:30 a.m. Friday when she spotted a Chevy pickup parked outside a garage used to store scrap parts for the homeowner's auto business.
When police arrived, the homeowner said the suspects ran into the woods leaving their truck behind.
After a 15 minute search, Boardman and Youngstown Police were able to locate 45-year-old Dana Jackson and 41-year-old Harold Michaels, both of Youngstown.
Police discovered that that the truck had been stolen.
Jackson and Michaels were charged with breaking and entering and receiving stolen property. Michaels was also charged with possession of criminal tools.
