Scrap Metal Stolen from Volunteer of America

COLUMBIA (Scrap Monster): A charity organization in Luzerne County had some of its donations stolen.

Volunteers of America tells Eyewitness News two people used shopping carts to steals several piles of scrap metal from their south Wilkes-Barre Property this week.

The store accepts and sells gently used items that are donated.

Store managers break down any donation made of metal they can't sell.

They then sell that scrap metal and use the money for numerous programs they sponsor like housing elderly residents in the area.

Manager Brian Cann was saddened by these actions.
