WICHITA (Scrap Monster): St.Louis-based scrap metal recycling firm-Shapiro Metals has decided to open a new scrap facility in Wichita, Kansas. The proposed facility will be company’s tenth facility within the US. The opening of the facility is scheduled for October this year.

According to the company, the new facility will not offer any retail service. Rather, it will mainly handle non-ferrous grades of scrap from industrial sector. In addition, it will also accept ferrous scrap in bulk quantities. The facility will employ nearly 6-8 employees and will be spread over 25,000 square-feet.

The family-owned business that started in 1904 is presently one of the leading scrap metal recyclers in the USA. Shapiro has recycling centres strategically located across North America. The company focuses on customized industrial scrap recycling programmes.

The company has helped manufacturers maximize their scrap metal revenues while reducing their carbon footprint.

The company said it decided to open the Wichita facility following constant demand from the residents.
