Royal Mint Launches This Year’s Gold/ Silver Commemorative Coins

LONDON (Scrap Monster) : The UK’s Royal Mint has announced the launch of this year’s commemorative coins engraved in Gold, Silver and Piedfort options. The commemorative coins released for 2014 is available in that designs that honor different wars and occasions in the history of the United Kingdom.

The Silver Proof Piedfort coins include six coins, four commemorative and two pound coins in one set. Royal mint has introduced a standard silver set, silver piedfort version and gold set in 22 carat. Moreover, eight circulation coins with shield design crafted by Matt Dent are also available in silver and silver piedfort versions.

The commemorative coins launched by UK’s Royal mint are as follows: 300th Anniversary of the Death of Queen Anne £5 coin, 100th Anniversary : Outbreak of the First World War, £2 coin,  500th Anniversary of Trinity House £2 coin, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games 50 pence coin and the “Floral” series 2014 UK £1 coins for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
