NEW YORK (Scrap Monster) : Two rare, historical American Gold coins minted in the 16th century was sold out for $ US 4.58 million at an auction here on Monday. As per the reports of the Heritage Auctions, ‘Brasher Doubloon’, the first coin minted privately in the US in 1787 which holds immense historical value fetched record price in terms of its worth. The auctioned gold coins are highly valuable and important with respect to the American history and are only one of its kinds available today.

Brasher Doubloon was on highlight in early 1967 when one of them was stolen, but later seized by FBI operation. The coin which is 89 % gold with 6 % silver and 3 % copper was not available for purchase after 1979 when one of them was sold at $ 430,000/-.
