Priceless Gold Artifact Recovered From Spanish Shipwreck

WASHINGTON (Scrap Monster): Stanford family, the famous treasure hunter family discovered the missing piece of a gold artifact which was unearthed by them 25 years ago from the same Spanish shipwreck off the Florida coast.

The gold artifact they found out is a Filigree Pyx, which was commonly used by the church priests to hold the communion host.

It was believed to be crafted in the late 1600s to early 1700s and it was unique, extremely rare piece of artifact. Stanford family and the salvager Queens Jewels LLC said that with its extraordinary gold weaving design and 300 years of history, the Pyx was priceless.

Eric Schmitt together with Rick, Lisa, Hillary and Lindsay found out many coins and gold chains worth more than $300,000 from the same site last year.

Schmitt said that there would be some more treasure boxes which were sunken down during the hurricane hit in 1715. As per the law, the treasure is in the custody of the U.S District Court in South Florida.
