Posco P&S' scrap purchasing prices climb higher

TOKYO (Scrap Monster): According to reports, South Korean Posco P&S has purchased scrap from Japan at higher rate. The company bought P&S scrap from Japan recently for ï¿¥38,500/ton C&F. This is ï¿¥500 higher when compared with the previous purchasing price. The company also purchased Shindachi scrap at the rate of ï¿¥37,500/ton FOB, which is higher by ï¿¥1,200/ton from the previous purchasing price.

Meantime, the average price of Japanese H2 scrap increased slightly during the third week of August, thus snapping its declining trend. The H2 average scrap prices had declined for the past six weeks in a row.

The average price of Japan H2 scrap in Kanto, Central and Kansai region was ¥ 31,086/ton during the third week of August. The prices increased by ¥ 67/ton from the previous week. The prices had averaged at ¥ 31,019/ton during the second week of the month.

The average price of H2 scrap in Kanto region was ¥ 31,767/ton. The average price in Kanto region was up by ¥ 100/ton over the previous week.

The average H2 scrap price in Central region was ¥ 29,240/ton. The average prices appreciated by ¥ 100/ton when compared with the prior week prices.

Meanwhile, the H2 scrap average prices held steady in Kansai regions. The average price of H2 scrap in Kansai region during the second week of August was ¥ 32,250/ton, flat when compared with previous week prices.
