Posco P&S' scrap purchasing price drops

TOKYO (Scrap Monster): According to reports, South Korean Posco P&S has purchased scrap from Japan at lower rate. The company bought P&S scrap from Japan recently for ï¿¥37,500/ton C&F. This is ï¿¥500 lower when compared with the previous purchasing price.

The scrap prices in Japan are expected to ease further owing to low demand, said industry sources. The P&S scrap base prices quoted were in the range ¥35,200~35,300/ton FOB in the Tokyo Bay region.

Meanwhile, the average price of Japanese H2 scrap continued to drop during the second week of July.

The average price of Japan H2 scrap in Kanto, Central and Kansai region was ¥ 31,391/ton during the second week of July. The prices decreased by ¥ 320/ton from the previous week.

The average price of H2 scrap in Kanto region was ¥ 32,333/ton. The average price in Kanto region declined by ¥ 334/ton over the previous week.

The average H2 scrap price in Central region was ¥ 29,340/ton. The average prices dropped by ¥ 500/ton with respect to last week’s price.

The H2 scrap average prices declined in Kansai regions. The average price of H2 scrap in Kansai region during the second week of July was ¥ 32,500/ton, dropping by ¥ 125/ton over the previous week.
